The objective was to create a postcard based on a typeface pulled from a hat. I pulled Garamond. Through research, I found that Garamond was developed in France for a King. Using the King’s coat of arms as inspiration, I developed a shield mounted to a brick wall with a fleur-de-lis blooming from various characters within the typeface. The reverse side is an ode to history, including the block letters.
